In the Hot Seat: Interview with Sonny Hall

Sonny brought his signature style which he describes as being ‘inspired by the Artful Dodger in Oliver Twist’ to the shoot with photography by Rhys Frampton and styled by Jake Hunte with clothes from grooming by Rebecca Barnes. Here we had a few burning questions for our new Yogi fan.

Yogi Footwear: Can you describe your personal style?

Sonny Hall: My style is best described as being inspired by the Artful Dodger in Oliver Twist, so a bit ‘scraggerly’ but with order to it.

Yogi Footwear: What was the first item of clothing you’ve ever bought for yourself?

Sonny Hall: It was definitely a polo by either Fred Perry or Lyle and Scott.

Yogi Footwear: Have you ever had a look that you regret?

Sonny Hall: I don’t regret any looks but I have experimented. I went through an emo stage, and I had mullet too.

Yogi Footwear: What is the most expensive piece of clothing you’ve ever bought for yourself or that you own?

Sonny Hall: Probably this Vivienne Westwood pyjama suit that I have from the 90s, or a swanky Moncler jacket I got a couple of weeks ago.

Yogi Footwear: Yogi was born in the 90s, when were you born?

Sonny Hall: 1998

Yogi Footwear: What do you like about the 90s fashion?

Sonny Hall: A lot happened in the 90s for fashion so it’s hard to pick just one thing. I do like all the sports stuff that happened around then which has come back around now. 90s Prada and Helmut Lang were amazing back then.

Yogi Footwear: What fragrance do you wear?

Sonny Hall: I wear, Old Books by Azzi Glasser.

Yogi Footwear: What’s next for you?

Sonny Hall: I’m working on a poetry book at the moment, which is going to come out in about three months. I’m also shooting a short film next month, which is really hard to explain, but it’s my short film.

Yogi Footwear: Who’s your style icon?

Sonny Hall: All the boys in Madness for sure. I have a lot of respect for Marilyn Manson for his courage to be reckless within the world. And the Artful Dodger, he’s my ultimate style icon.
