Best Foot Forward - Yogi Footwear featured in The Times Magazine December 2018
Posted on December 07 2018
The Times magazine have urged their readers to 'Discover Yogi – shoes with soul and one eye on the future' in a promoted content feature in the Times Magazine on Saturday 8 December.
Best Foot Forward
The article, called Best Foot Forward, delves into the background of the brand and picks out the hero pieces from our three collections.
"Style, substance and sustainability are the watchwords of footwear pioneer Yogi," The Times said. "Taking inspiration from the 1970s soul scene, Yogi’s comfortable and stylish shoes – ranging from unlined moccasins to boots and sneakers – are characterised by neutral colours and superior details. They make for versatile additions to any wardrobe and take smart-casual footwear to the next level."
The Styles To Know
The Times noted Yogi's emphasis is on quality and craftsmanship. "Yogi is a modern brand and modern means innovation: its “negative heel”, for example, helps to align the spine and improve posture by mimicking the way we walk on sand. Sustainability is at the heart of what Yogi does. It uses locally sourced materials and recycled shoeboxes to lower its carbon footprint, and limits the use of solvent-based adhesives through advanced design. All of which makes it a footwear brand fit for the 21st century."
Hero Styles - Classic: The Lawson
The Times say: "Showcasing Yogi’s emphasis on craftsmanship and premium materials, the unlined Lawson moccasin (above) pairs a handstitched suede upper with a crepe sole and hardy leather laces. The result is a shoe that’s big on charisma. Versatile enough to be dressed up or down, the Lawson is a modern classic in the making."
Hero Styles - Heritage: The Willard
The Times say: Based on a design dating back to the 1970s, the Willard’s unconventional shape still stands out today. Featuring the negative heel that has since become part of Yogi’s design DNA, this classic shoe comes in a choice
of sophisticated tones, including tan leather, and is rugged enough to take on the elements.
Hero Styles - Contemporary: The Rufus
The Times say: In addition to sturdy construction and a sleek silhouette, Yogi’s popular Rufus trainer boasts a leather upper and crepe-wrapped sole that makes it stand out from the crowd. Wear with off-duty denim at weekends
or pair with a two-piece suit for a contemporary take on office wear.
Yogi Footwear's feature in The Times magazine on 8 December 2018 was promoted content.
